Coming in November 2007:  Rockabilly Jamboree

November 10 is the date for the Rockabilly Jamboree 2007 to be held in Linden, Tennessee.  This year's featured bands are Art Adams of "Rock Crazy Baby" fame, and Mandy Marie and the Cool Hand Lukes, a great young band from Indianapolis.  This is the first year for this event, which we are hoping will evolve into an annual event, with all proceeds going to the Perry County Arts Council to help bring diverse cultural events to the youth of the County.  Currently there are no school programs in place for music or art, and the first goal of the Arts Council is to air condition the only stage in Perry County, the Middle School of Linden's gymnasium. 

The evening will be exciting.  Also appearing are Perry County's own Stacy Evans and Willie Redden.  Leslee "Bird" Anderson is making a guest appearance.  Billy Poore will do a few numbers, including "Whole Lotta Racket".  Ronnie Allen of WDXE Lawrenceburg will also be there, and Bob Timmers of the Rockabilly Hall of Fame has donated door prizes, as has Sun Records.  The bands will be performing their original music and selling the CD's as well.
